This post briefly explains how our EPGP loot system works.
EPGP breaks down into three parts:
1. Effort Points (EP) - points awarded to the raid for showing up and killing bosses (or wiping to new ones)
2. Gear Points (GP) - the number of points an item is worth, which should be visible in the item tooltip with the EPGP mod
3. Priority (PR) - the number that represents your loot priority, which is calculated by dividing your GP into your EP (higher is better)Decay. Each time a new raid is started, every guild member's EP and GP decay by 10%. This is done to discourage point hoarding.
PR cap. All PR values above 20 will be considered equal, and ties will be broken using EP. This again reduces the effectiveness of hoarding.
Sit-out EP. A member sitting out during a raid will earn full EP as if he were in the raid with the rest of us.
Priority for loot is determined by PR, as mentioned above. The following additional rules apply:
* A guild member above our minimum of 2250 EP and who has achieved the guild rank of "Raider" is eligible to receive loot for his main spec.
* If a guild member is ineligible for loot due to being below minimum EP or having any non-Raider status, he may still claim any item for his main spec if it has not already been distributed to an eligible member. This includes Initiates, but not players on a trial run. The winner of this item will be determined by /roll.
* Any item still not spoken for at this point becomes available for off-set to any guild member. The item winner of this item will be determined via /roll.
* Any item not claimed for any main spec or off-set will be disenchanted. If there is a trial run applicant present, he may purchase the item for one [Abyss Crystal]. At the moment, this option is not available to guild members. This is only a summary post, and for full details on what you can do to earn points and how they are rewarded, the entire EPGP post is in our Member section. If you're a guest, you'll just have to join the guild to read the rest of it. Ooooo...
